In 1995, the Minnesota legislature passed legislation authorizing pilot projects that would result in systemic change in the delivery of mental health services for adults with serious and persistent mental illness. The Region IV South Mental Health Initiative is one of the 15 projects statewide that are involved in redesigning and implementing improved systems for delivering mental health services in communities.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: To be part of an innovative, progressive five county team providing Intensive Community Rehabilitation Services and mobile crisis response services to adults diagnosed with a mental illness.

Region IV South includes the west central Minnesota counties of Douglas, Grant, Pope, Stevens, and Traverse.

The Adult Mental Health Initiatives, administered by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), give local mental health authorities the ability to design a community-based delivery system to meet their needs and entrust them to accomplish them.
