Social Club Member or Staff:
In the past we have asked you to call for reservations for certain events. We only ask for reservations when we NEED to prepare for a certain number of people so we have adquate transpiortation or enough tickets. From now on, you MUST call for reservations before the deadline or you will not be included in the activity.
January, 2009:
FOR INFORMATION CALL SUSAN OR BILL AT 589-1811
- Our first activity of the month is bowling at Crystal Lanes. We will meet at 6:00 on Thursday, January 15. There is no league that night). Lunch will follow.
- On Friday, January 23, at 6:45, meet us at the Morris Theatre to watch "Marley and Me". This is a comedy about a family learning life lessons from their adorable but naughty dog.
The Buddy Plan for January will feature certificates for Diary Queen. See Liz or Deb at the Drop In Center after January 5.
POINTS TO PONDER...
- Anyone who suffers from a serious mental illness is welcome to join our club.
- We try to offer a variety of activities so there is something for everyone. If you have any ideas for the club, let us know.
- Remember, friends and relatives are always welcome. However, they will be asked to pay their own costs for such things as tickets.
- If you want your birthday to be on our calendar, please leave a clear message with Susan or Bill at 589-1811.
December, 2008:
- Our first activity of the month is the UMM Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 7 at the new concert hall in the elementary school. The flute ensemble will play before the concert at 1:30. The main concert begins at 2:00. Come listen and sing along. Please make reservations by Wednesday, December 3 to make sure we buy enough tickets.
- On Wednesday, December 10, we will take a holiday shopping trip to Alexandria. The van will leave at 1:00 and return by 6:00. Please make reservations by Monday, December 8, so that transportation can be arranged.
- Our last event for the year is the Christmas party on Monday, December 22. It will be held at Old #1 South at 5:30. Reservations must be made by December 12.
The Buddy Plan for December will feature certificates for Common Cup. See Liz or Deb at the Drop In Center.
November, 2008
- On Thursday November 6, at 1:30 come to the Drop In Center for Bingo. There will be prizes and snacks.
- Later in the month, Monday, November 17, at 2:00 in the afternoon, Sarah Gronfeld will be with us at the Drop In Center for a jewelry making workshop. Each participant can choose a kit and make something with a professional look for themselves or to give as a gift. There will be kits for men and women to choose from. Please call and make a reservation by Friday the 14th so we have enough materials.
- The "Buddy Plan for November will feature a coupon for sheesecake at the Ranch House Restaurant on Hwy 28.

October, 2008
Our first activity of the month will be on Friday, October 17, when we travel to Glenwood to attend an "Irish Music Fun Fest". I saw this group recently and enjoyed their show. Plan to leave Morris at 6:30 from the Drop In Center. Make reservations before noon on October 10 so we can line up transportation and tickets.
Our second activity is a Halloween Party, to be held at 6:30 on October 31 at the Drop in Center. There will be games and snacks. Wear a costume if you have one.

September, 2008
We've had another request for a movie. On September 4, at 7:00 we will meet at the Morris Theatre to watch "Mama Mia." This is a musical comedy so it should be fun. Popcorn and soda will be provided.
On September 28, at 6:30, join us at Crystal Lanes for an evening of bowling, pool, and visiting. Later, meet us at the Drip In Center for brownie sundaies.
The "Buddy Plan this month will feature coupons for the Common Cup. See Debby for coupons.
*Deb is the hostess on Friday evenings and will gladly help anyone who is interested in water color painting. We have lots of good quality supplies left from our workshop.
August, 2008
Because of requests from group members, we will attend the movie "Dark Knight" on Wednesday, August 13, at 7 pm. This is the latest Batman movie and lasts over two hours. Popcorn and soda will be provided.
The Twins Baseball game is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20. At this time we have not been able to obtain information from the people at the Salvation Army store, but we are trying our best to get us on a bus. If you are intersted, LEAVE YOUR NAME AND NUMBER WITH DEBBY, she will keep you up to date with trip information.
On Tuesday, August, 26, at 10 am, we will spend some time at the WCROC Gardens before having lunch at China Buffet. In case of bad weather, call Debby for alternate activity.
The "Buddy Plan" for August will feature coupons for two taco's and a coke at Jose's Burrito's in the Mall. Remember, you cannot live with your "Buddy."

*We have two computers to use online or to play games. To learn more about computers call Deb at 589-87881 to make an appointment.
*NOW AVAILABLE: complete supplies for watercolor painting. Come down to the center and try it out.
June, 2008
On Wednesday June 4, at 6:45, we will meet at the Morris Theatre to watch "Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull". Soda and popcorn will be provided by the Social Club.
Then later in the month, on Tuesday, June 17, we will travel to the Wahpeton Zoo and carousel. This trip is sponsored by Morris Community Education. Meet at the elementary school parking lot at 1:00 p.m. to board a school bus. (Whapeton is about 55 miles from Morris). The Social Club will provide a ticket to the zoo, a carousel ride, and a sack lunch for each member. We should be back around 8 p.m. YOU MUST MAKE RESERVATIONS BY THE 10TH OF JUNE TO GO ON THIS TRIP.
Remember, friends and relatives are always welcome but must pay their own costs, for example, their own movie ticket.

May, 2008
- Come to Fiesta Bingo on May, 7th from 2:30 to 5:30. Consumers from Region IV South are especially invited. This event will be held at Grandview Apartments, the high rise across the road from the new Morris Area Elementary School. There will be bingo, salad bar and a fiesta chicken supper, so come hungry. Consumers from Stevens County are free. Consumers from other counties, friends, and staff are all ivited at $4.00 each.
- The next activity of the month is Last Chance Bowling and Pool on May 15, at 6:30. Crystal Lanes will be closing for the season and David has asked us to come back if we had the time! Treats will follow.
- On Friday, May 23, at 2:oo we will again have TV comedies and popcorn at the Drop In Center. There was a lot of laughing last time, so come and join us.
The "Buddy Plan" will continue through May. This month we will offer $5 coupons for McDonald's.
There is still confusion about the rules.
- You cannot live in the same house as your "buddy".
- One coupon per person, per month.
- Club member can apply for free coupons, friends and others must pay their own costs.
